Systems Compensation Manager (Bon Secours Health System) 
Richmond, VA
JOB SUMMARY:
Designs, plans and implements consistent system-wide compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Leads system compensation integration initiatives ensuring the compensation program enhances the organization’s ability to recruit, retain and reward employees. Works congruently with Human Resources business partners from the Local Systems to ensure the compensation program provide local market flexibility as necessary and meets the organization’s needs. Analyzes new and existing programs for cost, compliance with government regulations, and conformity with Bon Secours Compensation philosophy. Manages and supervises the operations and continual development of the compensation staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Manages and supervises Compensation staff including training, coaching, supporting, and when necessary initiating counseling and disciplinary actions. Provides resource planning and development to maximize labor resources within the Center of Excellence.
2. Leads system compensation integration initiatives to design and deliver a sustainable compensation infrastructure using a common framework based on competitive market data and Bon Secours compensation philosophy.
3. Ensuring the compensation program enhances the organization’s ability to recruit, retains and rewards employees based on relevant and measurable performance.
4. Directs all research, analysis, and proposals for compensation programs. Ensure compensation programs are market competitive, fiscally responsible, achieve desired results to meet the overall strategy and goals of the organization, and legally compliant.
5. Consults on compensation issues to Human Resources business partners and Senior and Executives leaders.
6. Develops and monitors system policies related to employee compensation and performance increases as well as incentive programs.
7. Monitors, analyzes, and reports statistics and indicators necessary to evaluate progress towards the division and organization’s goals.

The Senior Compensation Analyst will provide research, modeling, analysis, documentation, and reporting related to compensation plans and programs. The Senior Compensation Analyst will need to apply a broad knowledge of compensation principles to a variety of moderate to complex situations with minimum supervision. This position will lead and/or provide oversight to compensation projects with a focus on Sales and Call Center compensation. The Senior Compensation Analyst is fundamentally responsible for managing, improving and providing compensation consultation to all levels within the organization while ensuring compliance to all state and federal regulatory requirements that relate to Compensation. This position may also provide day to day direction to other compensation associates and business partners.
- Design, implement and consult on reward strategies, initiatives and programs (emphasis on monetary and non-monetary rewards), focusing on base pay and variable compensation for Regional, Store, Auto Financing, Home Office, Sales and Call Center associates.
- Development of policies, procedures and improvements to compensation processes which include but is not limited to; Merit, Annual Bonus, Stock Awards, Annual Market Reviews, Minimum Wage, Sales Contest, President’s Club, etc.
- Lead moderate to complex compensation projects that will involve cross functional teams to accomplish corporate initiatives. Provide oversight and direction to less complex intra departmental projects.
- Research, understand, and consult on best practices and market competitiveness information
- Provide development opportunities for Compensation associates and feedback on Compensation associate’s skill development and accomplishments.
- Study and analyze job and wage information in order to provide consulting with regard to level, title, pay range and wage/salary recommendations to management.
- Counsel Hiring Managers and Recruiters on policy and procedural issues, including new hire offers, promotional increases, salary adjustments, etc.
- Answer escalated questions on compensation related issues
- Ensure that all compensation programs, pay plans and position evaluations are compliant with state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Develop associate communication regarding compensation plans.
- Develop and deliver training and presentations on compensation and performance management programs, practices and issues.
- Assist salary planning and budget efforts
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
· Experience with Sales and/or Call Center compensation design and modeling preferred
· Minimum of 5 years experience in managing Compensation programs
· Minimum of 3 years experience focused in managing Sales and/or Call Center Compensation programs, preferred
· Specific knowledge of HRIS systems, ADP and Peoplesoft preferred

- Thought leadership coupled with strong results orientation
- Strong business and financial acumen; experience in data modeling and financial impact analysis
- Collaborative, customer service oriented team player necessary for success

Sr. Compensation Consultant

Owens & Minor (NYSE:OMI), a FORTUNE 500 company and a leading distributor of national name-brand medical and surgical supplies and a supply-chain management solutions company, has an opening for a Sr. Compensation Consultant to work at our Home Office in Mechanicsville, VA.
This key position supports the Owens & Minor Total Compensation Philosophy and Strategy by consulting with internal Owens & Minor clients to: design, develop and enhance base salary, variable pay and equity compensation programs; research and recommend alternative solutions to address business needs and gain buy-in and acceptance of new ideas and proposals; creates communication plans and strategies to support annual programs and new initiatives; provide actionable recommendations for enhancing existing programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Project lead for compensation design and development projects; manages project teams including members of senior management.
2. Responsible for the design and communication of incentive programs for all areas of the organization (i.e. management, sales, OM Solutions, Teammate Challenge, Quality Awards, new businesses, etc). Coordinates with management and Human Resources to ensure payment is consistent with incentive plan design.
3. Supports due diligence process for acquisitions; performs duties and analysis in order to support the transition of teammates and programs into Owens & Minor Total Compensation programs.
4. Audits, measures and reports on success of compensation programs in achieving business goals and rewarding and/or changing teammate behavior. Surveys internal customers on the degree to which program is meeting business needs; provide actionable recommendations for enhancing existing programs.
5. Prepares compensation proposals for review and approval by the Compensation and Benefits Committee of the Board of Directors.
6. Researches best practices of others and provides recommendations on Total Compensation Philosophy, Strategy and Tactics; researches and utilizes market data
7. Determines the impact of existing and proposed Compensation Program designs on internal and external technical systems (i.e., Oracle, Fidelity, etc).
8. Provides compensation consulting support to various business units
9. Supports other members of the Human Resources team as needed to complete projects and keep others informed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. TRAINING & EDUCATION:
Broad knowledge of a discipline such as chemical, distribution, electrical, or mechanical engineering, behavioral science, finance or business administration. Equal to a complete 4 year college or university education.
B. WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least ten years of related experience.
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Demonstrated knowledge of compensation programs, practices and methodologies
· Strong analytical and organizational skills.
· Ability to interface with all levels of the company.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Superior communication skills (verbal and written)
· Knowledge and understanding of SEC disclosure requirements and security trading issues required.
· Demonstrated familiarity with ADA, FLSA, and OFCCP
· Ability to research information and resolve problems.
· Detail oriented with strong planning and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Demonstrated flexibility, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· CCP Certification highly preferred
