VCU Health System is currently recruiting for a Senior Compensation Consultant to contribute to the design and modification of compensation programs, policies and procedures to ensure competitive, cost effective compensation practices for the organization.  You will also consult with client groups, plans and executes projects, as well as assure compliance with all federal and state laws and  regulations related to compensation. 

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 7-8 years of compensation experience. Strong technical and working knowledge of broad based compensation practices and applicable laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act is required. Successful candidates will have strong organization, prioritization and project management skills, interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others, analytical/problem solving skills and verbal/written communication skills. As well have strong software application skill including spreadsheets, databases and HRIS reporting technique. You must be results oriented, have demonstrated ability to develop and implement compensation processes and programs and show an understanding of the financial impact of compensation programs and policies. Senior level knowledge of human resources theory, practices and applicable laws and the ability to mentor less experienced associates will be required. CCP strongly preferred.

Compensation Analyst

Richmond, VA
Estes Express Lines is currently seeking a Compensation Analyst for our corporate office
 Job Summary:
  • Assist in the development & administration of employee salary administration programs
  • Advise management on compensation actions for employees
  • Review proposed salary actions to ensure conformance with established guidelines and policies
  • Participate in salary surveys and analyze results to determine organization’s market relationship
  • Write new job descriptions and revise current ones
  • Develop recommendations to adjust salary structure in response to changing organizational needs and market values
  • Analyze current organizational pay practices and make recommendations for salary changes to ensure equity
  • Conduct job analysis to determine appropriate salary level according to compensation guidelines and policy formulated by human resources executive
  • Review proposals for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignment
  • Develop and implement salary administration guidelines
  • Participate in development and administration of performance review system to ensure compliance with salary administration guidelines
  • Research special compensation programs or incentive systems to support the organization’s objectives
  • Supervise the participation in and conduct of both exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers

Compensation Analyst

Richmond, VA

 

Function

Performs complex analytical activities related to compensation, focusing on writing and maintaining job descriptions, evaluating jobs and identifying relevant market comparative data for Federal Reserve Information Technology.  Coordinates job description preparation and evaluation and completion of wage and salary surveys.  May assist in administration of market based salary programs including base pay and variable pay programs.  Conducts research on prevalent HR and compensation practices to recommend alternative strategies and approaches.  Assist with web based compensation system and related analysis and reports.  Provides compensation program consulting, policy interpretation, and program administration. Assist with facilitation of information to staff and management related to the organizations extensive benefit programs.  Provides information and tools for FRIT management and FRIT HR for use in decision-making, monitoring and assessing HR programs.  Works with all levels of FRIT management on a regular basis to address sensitive matters and provide guidance on salary administration. Responds to System and external surveys and audit requests.  Participates in projects as needed for area of assigned activities.  Handles highest level of sensitive and confidential information.  All activities performed within strict deadlines and require adherence to and compliance with various HR policies. 

Requirements 

Previous HR work experience with concentration in compensation specialization.  Comprehensive knowledge of compensation principles and practices including salary administration, job evaluation methodologies, variable pay and related audit and reporting concepts.  Experience with job assessment and various tools and sources of collecting market data.  Experience in applying complex mathematical and/or statistical methodologies for data compilation and analysis; high level of attention to detail.  Exposure to general benefit programs.  Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills and high level of professionalism. Strong written communication and presentation skills.  Demonstrated ability to handle highest level of confidential information.  Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel and word with advanced level Microsoft Access skills and knowledge of compensation software products.  Ability to regularly prioritize work and adjust to changes often within strict timeframes.  Extended hours required to complete short notice assignments and meet deadlines.  CANDIDATES ARE SUBJECT TO SPECIAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION PROCEDURES.
