    Attention! Attention! Do you have what it takes to bring new energy to RCA or know someone who does?
    There are three board positions being vacated in April:

    Co-Director of Professional Development

    Director of Communications,

    President

    Sue Anne Kinelski, Co-Director of Professional Development and Jessica Bennett, Director of Communications, both serving over two years in their respective board positions will reach their tenure in their roles as of April 1, 2014.  In addition, Anne Jernigan, who has served on the Board since 2007 and most recently as the President, will be stepping out of her role. We sincerely thank each of these Directors for their dedicated years of service and contributions to helping the RCA achieve its success!

    Historically, the last quarterly meeting of the year for RCA has been an end-of-the-year discussion panel, and this year is no exception. The panel will be made up of consultants and HR practitioners and this year’s focus will be around some things that worked in 2013 and how to overcome those things that haven’t. The discussion will be facilitated and based on questions from the membership. 

    In an effort to make the discussion more meaningful to you and your organization, it would be extremely helpful if members and guests could provide questions in advance for the panel. Please submit your questions by simply adding a comment below or via email at info@richcomp.org

    Nominations are open for the Richmond SHRM's 2013 HR Strategist of the Year Award!

    Make someone’s day and recognize them for their great HR ideas, leadership or initiatives. Nominations are now being accepted through July 20th, 2013.

    Who is eligible? Nominees should have…

    *5+ years of HR experience

    * Demonstrated/implemented HR strategy and/or initiative since 2010

    Our Ellection Ballot Results are in and we would like to officially congratulate and welcome our newest RCA Board Members who will transition to their roles upon the completion of training!

    Sarah Koch, a Compensation Analyst with McGuire Woods, will be assuming the role of Co-Director of Professional Development.
    Terri Higgins, a Senior HR Analyst with Henrico County, will be assuming the role of Director of Membership.
    Karen Bobrovsky, Division Director Total Rewards and Analytics with HCA and Current Director of Membership, will be assuming the role of Director of Finance.

    Congrats Sarah, Terri, & Karen and thank you on behalf of RCA for volunteering your time and talents!

    Have you updated your Membership Profile on our new website? Do so by our next Quarterly Meeting on June 12th and be automatically entered in a drawing for a GIFT CARD! To update your Membership Profile- simply log in under the "Member Area".  When logging in for the first time, enter your email address and request a password reset. You should be prompted at that time to update your membership profile.

    It’s that time of year again!  The RCA Board of Directors election ballot will be open beginning Friday, April 19th through Friday, April 26th. Please note that a “non-vote” is deemed as abstention, and at least 25% of our membership MUST vote to be considered binding.


    Brooke Conover, who has served as Co-Director of Professional Development for the past 2 years, will be ending her time on the Board.  Karen Bobrovsky, who has served on the Board for 2 years as Director of Membership, will also reach the end of her tenure in that position.  In addition, Anne Jernigan, who has served on the Board since 2007 and most recently as the Director of Finance and President, will be stepping out of her Director of Finance. We sincerely thank each of these Directors for their dedicated years of service and contributions to helping the RCA achieve its success!


    There are four Board positions being vacated that are on the ballot: Co-Director of Professional Development, Director of Membership, and Director of Finance.


    Additionally, there are proposed changes to the RCA bylaws for 2013, including broadening membership requirements, adding new sections about professional conduct, expanding the Board of Directors to include a Past President role, and adding term limits for Board positions, to name a few.
